Is there anyone out there saying, “I HAVE to see Hot Tub Time Machine 2!”? I never saw the first one, and I am quite frankly surprised this got a sequel. The first one only made $64 million on a $36 million budget, which is not great, and this sequel does not include that film’s star John Cusack. So, what is the draw? I don’t think Rob Corddry sells a movie, even if he is a funny dude.
Well, you can watch two new trailers for the film below, one of them a red band and the other green. The movie was supposed to be released this Christmas Day, but it was pushed back to February 20, 2015. A film getting pushed to the start of the new year is rarely a good sign.
I want my questions answered though. What is the draw here? Will anyone go see this? Why did this get a sequel?
Again, here are the trailers for you to view.
Sequel to the 2010 comedy which followed a group of best friends who’ve become bored with their adult lives: Adam (Cusack) has been dumped by his girlfriend; Lou (Corddry) is a party guy who can’t find the party; Nick’s (Robinson) wife controls his every move; and video game-obsessed Jacob (Duke) won’t leave his basement. After a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, the men wake up, heads’ pounding, in the year 1986. It’s their chance to kick some past and change their futures.
