Watch: Two New Trailers for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’

Guillermo del Toro can be a bit hit and miss, I haven’t been much of a fan of his Hellboy movies (though I did somewhat enjoy the first one) and Pacific Rim was, well, we’ll leave Pacific Rim alone, but I have loved some of his earlier work, films such as The Devil’s Backbone, Cronos and Blade II, so here’s to hoping Crimson Peak delivers in the vein of earlier del Toro as opposed to his later studio features. One thing that has me thinking positively is the fact his latest supernatural horror is rated R and it also doesn’t hurt he’s got Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston starring.

Today a new trailer for the movie arrived, offering a new peek at the movie in which Mia Wasikowska plays an aspiring author torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. We meet her in the wake of a family tragedy as she’s trying to escape the ghosts of her past, and is eventually swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds… and remembers.

Crimson Peak arrives on Oct. 16, check out the new trailers below, the first being the domestic trailer and the second an international version.
