Beauty Newbie aired episode 10 on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. ICT on channel GMM25. The Thai drama follows the story of Liu (Baifern Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul), who has been bullied for her looks all her life. Thus, she goes through plastic surgery before entering university. However, she comes across an old schoolmate, Guy (Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn), who recognizes Liu’s old face from their school days.
Episode 10 begins with Faye (Jane Ramida Jiranorraphat) confessing to Liu about having feelings for Guy. As Liu is confused by this revelation, Faye tells her it was the university fair night when she had a change of heart towards Guy. Since Liu left early that night, Faye slightly alters the scenario and says Guy protected her when the boys wanted to have a duel, and the winner would have gotten Faye. She then asks for Liu’s help to get close to Guy.
The following day, Faye gets partnered up with Guy in the lab when Ann offers to switch partners with Liu. While Guy wanted to get with Liu, he ended up with Faye instead. She tries to get close to him during their lab work. The classmates start gossiping about how they are a “good match.”
After the class, despite Guy being reluctant, Faye asks him to go out and talk to her. She takes him to a cafe and tries to bond with him over a kitten, assuming that he likes cats. However, her plan fails as Guy turns her down and says he would never have feelings for her. Faye tells Liu about the rejection and says she’s not good enough for Guy. Seeing her friend in a heartbroken state, Liu decides to help Faye and set her up with Guy. She invites him out for dinner.
Beauty Newbie episode 10 recap: Guy gets in a fight after Liu’s rejection
Assuming that Liu is finally giving him a chance, Guy is ecstatic at the invitation. However, he is disappointed when he gets to the restaurant. Despite Guy rejecting Faye’s offer to join them, Liu lets her sit at the table, and she goes to the restroom.
An agitated Guy asks Faye to stop fooling Liu. Faye retorts and says she wants to be Guy’s girlfriend. She then offers him the chance to turn dating into fame and money as their “ship” makes constant buzz. Guy calls Faye a psychopath and asks her to leave him and Liu alone. Her following comments shock Guy even more. Faye says he should be dating her instead of a plastic girl like Liu.
Meanwhile, Liu breaks down in the restroom, thinking she isn’t a good match for Guy. He rushes to her when she leaves the restaurant. Guy tells Liu not to think about other people’s opinions about them. However, she rejects him, saying she never had feelings for him.
Guy goes out drinking with Ann and keeps wondering why Liu rejected him. Meanwhile, Liu confides in Saint about the ongoing events. Their conversation is interrupted when Liu receives a call from Ann asking for Guy’s mother’s number. She reveals that Guy got into a fight at the bar. Third’s comments about Liu being a plastic girl infuriate Guy and the two fight. Liu stands up for herself at the police station and tells Third she has the right to choose who she dates despite the surgery.
Upon Guy’s release, Liu reveals to Linda that she has feelings for Guy but has rejected him because she isn’t a good match. Linda then puts her marriage as an example and asks Liu to rethink her idea of a perfect match.
