Mattel is giving fans the chance to grab another piece from the recently released Barbie film, offering up a special Ken doll wearing the now iconic “I Am Kenough” hoodie from the film.
The toy comes from Mattel Creations, and is available for preorder now for $50 on Mattel’s site. The doll comes complete with an “I Am Kenough” hoodie, sweatpants and boxing-style sneakers, a headband, and a charm necklace, mirroring what he wore in the 2023 film.
According to the Mattel Creations website, the Ken doll will be available to preorder from now through November 14, 2023, with no concrete release date for for the doll as of yet. The website does note that the doll will ship “on or before” October 31, 2024, however, so it could be some time before fans get them.
Barbie was one of the most successful films of the year
Barbie has currently grossed more than $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2023. Crossing the billion-dollar mark has also made Gerwig the first solo female director to receive this box office achievement. The film is still currently playing in theaters worldwide, which will then be followed by its digital release on September 5.
The film stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, Helen Mirren, Dua Lipa and more. It will also feature music from multiple artists including Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Ice Spice, and K-Pop girl group Fifty Fifty.
Barbie is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. It is produced by Robbie and Tom Ackerly for LuckyChap and Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner along with Josey McNamara and Ynon Kreiz.
