The man who was suspected to be responsible for the Maine shootings has passed away. The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s office announced on Friday that the 40-year-old, Robert Card is no more. He was suspected of killing 18 people in Lewiston, Maine. The cause of his death was a self-inflicted gun wound.
The law enforcement discovered Robert Card’s body close to a recycling plant near Lisbon. The confirmation of his death was given to CBS News by several law enforcement sources. The time Card’s body was discovered was exactly 7:45 p.m. Officials even discovered his abandoned car, a white Subaru Outback, several hours prior by a boat launch.

Cops never managed to catch the suspected Maine shooter. However, they searched the business Robert Card worked at several times. While searching the facility, they somehow skipped the overflow lot. Thankfully, the owner of the property contacted the officials and suggested they search the overflow lot as well.
The search for the alleged shooter began as soon as the tragedy took place on October 25, 2023. Eventually, three people contacted the cops and revealed the identity of the suspect. They were members of his own family.
The manhunt for Robert Card was going well. However, he took his own life before his arrest. During the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, United States, 18 people lost their lives. Furthermore, 13 others were seriously injured.
There were not one but two mass shootings. The first one took place at the Just-in-Time Recreation bowling alley. The second one eventually occurred a couple of minutes later at the Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant.
Officials issued an arrest warrant against Robert Card for eight counts of murder. This tragedy is regarded as the worst mass shooting of 2023.
