James Gunn is a very busy man, but that isn’t stopping him from making headway on multiple projects.
The Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad director delivered an update on HBO Max’s upcoming Peacemaker series, which will star John Cena‘s character from the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel. Written and created by Gunn, the eight-episode series is set to premiere in January 2022 and is currently being filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Production is expected to wrap in June.
Gunn, who is confirmed to be directing the first episode of the show as well, called the show amazing so far. “[I] just finished the first cut of Episode 1, and I love it so much,” Gunn told a fan on Twitter. “People are not prepared for this behemoth.”
