Money Heist, or La casa de papel, centers around a group of thieves led by The Professor, who wears a Salvador Dali mask and a red jumpsuit and take on names of different cities in order to conceal their identities. In Part 1 and 2, they take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as a criminal mastermind manipulates the police to carry out his plan. In Part 3 and 4, Lives are on the line as the Professor’s plan begins to unravel, and the crew must fend off enemies from both inside and outside the Bank of Spain.

We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel,” creator and executive producer Alex Pina previously said in a statement about Season 5/Part 5. “The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”

The series stars Álvaro Morte as The Professor,  Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo, Itziar Ituño as Lisbon, Pedro Alonso as Berlin, Alba Flores as Nairobi, Miguel Herrán as Rio, Jaime Lorente as Denver, Esther Acebo as Stockholm, Darko Perić as Helsinki, and Paco Tous as Moscow. It also features Hovik Keuchkerian as Bogota, Rodrigo de la Serna as Martin Berrote, Najwa Nimri as Alicia Sierra, Luka Peros as Marseille, Belen Cuesta as Manila, Fernando Cayo as Colonel Tamayo, and Enrique Arce as Arturo Roman.

Season 5 will also see the introduction of Miguel Ángel Silvestre (Sense8) and Patrick Criado as they join the fan-favorite roster of returning series regulars.

In 2018, the series became the most-watched non-English language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix. Due to its global success, the series has won numerous awards from local and international award-giving bodies, including an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
