HBO has added even more to the cast of its upcoming half-hour comedy series Rap Shi*t, according to a recent report from Deadline.

Daniel Augustin (Grey’s Anatomy, David Makes Man), Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut (Cruel Summer), Amandla Jahava (DMZ), and Jaboukie Young-White (The Daily Show, Dating & New York) have all been tapped for recurring roles in the series, which comes from Insecure co-creator Issa Rae and her HOORAE Productions.
Rap Sh*t follows two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), who reunite to form a rap group. The four new cast members will join Osman, KaMillion, and previously announced series regulars Devon Terrell and Jonica Booth.
Augustin will play Maurice, a friend and co-worker of Shawna who is said to have great taste in clothes, but not so much in women. Chestnut portrays Fatima, a law classmate and close friend of Shawna’s boyfriend, Cliff (Terrell). Jahava plays Jill, Shawna’s friend from college and an employee at Spotify. Finally, Young-White plays Francois Boom, Shawna’s former schoolmate and producer.

Rap Sh*t will be executive produced by Issa Rae (HBO’s Insecure, A Black Lady Sketch Show) and Montrel McKay (A Black Lady Sketch Show, Road Trippp) for HOORAE, as well as Jonathan Berry (Insecure) and Dave Becky (Master of None, Russian Dolls) for 3 Arts Entertainment, along with showrunner Syreeta Singleton (Insecure, Central Park). Rae will write the pilot, and hip hop duo Yung Miami and JT of City Girls will also serve as co-executive producers, along with Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas for Quality Control Films and Sara Rastogi for HOORAE. Rae’s audio content company Raedio will handle music supervision for the series.
