Liz Sheridan Passes Away: Alf & Seinfeld Star Was 93

Liz Sheridan has passed away at the age of 93. According to Sheridan’s rep, the actress passed away this morning in her sleep from natural causes just five days after celebrating her birthday.

While Sheridan began her career in entertainment as a Broadway dancer, she’d become best-known thanks to her roles in several comedies. She played the memorable neighbor Mrs. Ochmonek on ALF and then became a staple on Seinfeld as she played Jerry’s mother. Sheridan would appear on 24 episodes of ALF and 21 episodes of Seinfeld, making her a television staple.

In her later career, Sheridan starred in the 2010 romantic comedy Play the Game alongside Andy Griffith and Doris Roberts. She also appeared in the documentary The Last Laugh in 2016, which examined if Holocaust jokes can be funny. She also voiced a character on American Dad! (Mrs. Rothberg) in 2007.

Sheridan was married to writer Dale Wales, who she began dating in 1960, from 1985 until his death in 2003. The two have a daughter that survives the couple.
