During a Sony investor briefing yesterday, it was announced that Horizon Zero Dawn and Gran Turismo will be the latest PlayStation series to be adapted into television series.

The Horizon Zero Dawn series has been nabbed by Netflix, while the Gran Turismo series has yet to find a distributor. Both series are currently in early development. It was also confirmed that the upcoming God of War series will indeed be distributed through Prime Video.
Horizon Zero Dawn follows Aloy, a young outcast who sets out to unravel the mysteries behind her robot dinosaur-filled, post-apocalyptic world. The first game was released for the PS4 in 2017, while its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, was released for the PS4 and PS5 just this past February. Meanwhile, Gran Turismo is one of the most popular racing games in the industry, with Gran Turismo 7 having been released for the PS4 and PS5 this past March.

Quite a few of Sony’s video game franchises have been making the jump to another medium. Following the release of the Uncharted movie in February, there’s a Ghost of Tsushima movie in the works, an HBO show based on The Last of Us. and a Peacock series based on Twisted Metal. Outside of these series, Hollywood Reporter confirmed that there are 10 more PlayStation franchises in different stages of development for both TV and film.
