In a recent interview with the outlet, Maslany got the chance to explain She-Hulk’s differences from other comic book characters, and described the Jade Giant as the “antithesis of most superhero narratives.” After mentioning Bruce Banner’s initial dilemma with his alter ego, Maslany confirms that her character will also have the same struggle, teasing “the fun tension” between Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk.
“There’s this great element of denial in her that’s relatable,” Maslany said. “For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk.”
The award-winning TV star went on to tease Jennifer’s superhuman law firm, where she will get to represent “some really fun characters that she’s either defending or in opposition of.”
Described as a 10-episode legal comedy, the She-Hulk series will be led by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Tatiana Maslany who will take on the titular role as Jennifer Walters. She will be joined by Avengers: Endgame star Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth (The Incredible Hulk) as they reprise their respective roles as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Abomination.
Additional cast includes Jameela Jamil, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Josh Segarra, with Megan Thee Stallion rumored to also appear in the series.
