FX has officially given a series order to the limited drama thriller titled The Veil, which hails from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Golden Globe and Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss has signed on for the leading role in the miniseries, which is being developed for Hulu.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Steven Knight on The Veil and thrilled to have Elisabeth Moss sign on for the lead role,” FX’s President of Original Programming, Nick Grad said in a statement (via Deadline). “Steven’s scripts are riveting and no doubt will showcase Elisabeth’s exceptional talent.”

The Veil will be written and executive produced by Steven Knight. Moss, Denise Di Novi, Nina Tassler, and Lindsey McManus are executive producing. It will be produced by FX Productions.
“The miniseries explores the surprising and fraught relationship between two women who play a deadly game of truth and lies on the road from Istanbul to Paris and London,” reads the synopsis. “One woman has a secret, the other a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost.”

Moss is best known for her role as Offred/June in Hulu’s series adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s classic novel The Handmaid’s Tale which earned her two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress. She recently starred in Apple TV+’s psychological thriller series Shining Girls and will next be seen in Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins.
