Agatha: Coven of Chaos Adds Comedian Sasheer Zamata

According to Deadline, Saturday Night Live vet Sasheer Zamata has been tapped to join Kathryn Hahn in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. This marks Zamata’s latest role with Marvel, as she’s already set to lend her voice to the character of Adria Lafayette in the upcoming Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur series.

She will be joining a number of previously announced cast members, such as Heartstopper breakout Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West), Ali Ahn, and Maria Dizzia. Production is expected to begin later this month.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (formerly titled House of Harkness) was officially announced during Disney Day 2021. It will feature the return of Kathryn Hahn as she reprises her WandaVision role as Agatha Harkness, who was one of the Elizabeth Olsen-led series’ antagonists and is the one who revealed Wanda’s true potential as the Scarlet Witch. For her fan-favorite performance, she earned an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Besides Hahn, Emma Caulfield Ford is also returning for Coven of Chaos, as she previously appeared in WandaVision as one of Wanda’s neighbors, Dottie.

The upcoming project hails from head writer Jac Schaeffer, who is also serving as an executive producer along with Kevin Feige. It is confirmed to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to make its premiere in Winter 2023.
