The Penguin Adds Carmen Ejogo, Francois Chau, & More to Cast

The cast of the upcoming The Batman spin-off The Penguin continues to grow, with Variety reporting that Carmen Ejogo, Francois Chau, and David H. Holmes have all joined the series.

While their roles in the upcoming series are unknown, they’ll join a cast that has quickly grown over the past couple of months. Alongside lead actor Colin Farrell, The Penguin is also set to star Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, Theo Rossi, and more.

Ejogo’s credits include roles in True Detective Season 3, Your Honor, the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Alien: Covenant, and more. Chau is best known for his work on the hit drama Lost and The Expanse, as well as having appeared in series like Law & Order: Organized Crime. Holmes starred in the Hulu series adaptation of High Fidelity, and also appeared on Mindhunter, Law & Order: SVU, and Difficult People.

Set in the world of 2022’s The Batman, the HBO Max series will focus on Oswald Cobblepot. The Penguin will be based on the DC characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. It is being written by Lauren LeFranc, who is also set as the showrunner. The first two episodes will be directed by Craig Zobel.

The Penguin will be executive produced by The Batman‘s Dylan Clark and Matt Reeves, Farrell, LeFranc, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassanand, and Rafi Crohn. It is a joint project between 6th and Idaho, DC Entertainment, Dylan Clark Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.
