Adult Swim announced the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 12 release date on Thursday, confirming that the highly anticipated 12th season of the series will premiere next month.
The Aqua Teen Hunger Force revival release date has been set for November 26, 2023, when the show will return at 11:30 p.m. on Adult Swim. The 12th season will be the first time the show has returned to TV with new episodes since 2015, when the series’ 11th season came to an end.
According to Adult Swim, new episodes of the series will feature guest appearances by Emmy winner Eric Bauza, Emmy winner Brian Cox, Dan Fogler, Emmy winner Maurice LaMarche, and Gary Anthony Williams. The series will once again see stars Carey Means (Frylock), Dana Snyder (Master Shake), and co-creator Dave Willis (Meatwad) return, with Willis and Matt Maiellaro writing, producing, and directing every episode.
What is Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 12 about?
“Aqua Teen Hunger Force” is back to make television watchable again, and to fill your empty, content-starved lives with a magical season 12! Don’t call it a comeback! Even though by all accounts it seems to be just that,” reads the official synopsis for the new season.
“It’s a micro-itty-bitty-mini season, five brand new episodes of attention-whittling stupidity – but don’t worry, the laugh-per-episode density is far higher than anything else you willingly agree to place before your swollen, encrusted eyes. The new season picks up where we left off in 2015, as Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad have returned to solve all of life’s modern issues, and Carl returns because he can’t sell his crappy house because he lives next door to food. Look for your favorite trio of ‘detectives’ to go head-to-head with A.I. appliances, join an apocalyptic fitness cult, and search for friendship through ancient Egyptian pyramid schemes. In the end, all problems shall be solved, and all brains shall be melted. Did Adult Swim mess with a winning formula? You better believe it! Master Shake now has two all-new facial expressions . . . ‘Bemused’ and ‘Lips Pursed in Thought’! And Shake can close his hands now, as if to hold things! Also, Frylock is sixty stories high and Meatwad bounces to get around. Tune in to see if we’re telling the truth!”
Originally premiering in 2000, Aqua Teen Hunger Force was one of the very first Adult Swim series to premiere along with the cable channel. The series ran for 11 seasons, totaling 139 episodes, including two films, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters in 2007, and the 2022 film Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm. A series of YouTube spin-off shorts, Aquadonk Side Pieces, also released last year, featuring some of the show’s more iconic characters in small skits.
