The Bondsman: The Exorcist Star Joins Kevin Bacon in Prime Video Series

According to Deadline, The Exorcist actress Jennifer Nettles has been tapped to join Kevin Bacon in Blumhouse Television’s upcoming action horror series, The Bondsman.

Nettles is set to portray the role of Maryanne, the ex-wife of Bacon’s character Hub Halloran. This marks the Sugarland singer’s latest major TV project since appearing in the HBO comedy The Righteous Gemstones.

What is The Bondsman about?

“The series centers around Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, and love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career — only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist,” reads the logline.

The Bondsman is created and executive produced by Grainger David, with Erik Oleson serving as the showrunner. The 8-episode series will executive produced by Bacon, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie and Paul Shapiro. It hails from Blumhouse Television and CrimeThink. It is expected to debut on Prime Video.

Prior to The Bondsman, Bacon also appeared on a number of shows, including the crime dramas The Following and City on a Hill. The upcoming series won’t be Bacon’s first venture into the horror genre, as he previously starred in movies like 1980’s Friday the 13th, 1990’s Tremors, 2000’s Hollow Man, 2020’s You Should Have Left and 2022’s They/Them.
