Penguin Random House announced on Wednesday that it would be releasing a series of books based on the hit Netflix series Wednesday, including a cookbook, novelization of the series, and more.
Beginning in July 2024, the publishing house will team up with Amazon MGM Studios for a new publishing program based on the series. The program will first see the Wednesday: Official Coloring Book and I Am Wednesday (Little Golden Book) release on July 2, 2024, with both projects aimed at a younger audience, ages 2-5.
On September 3, 2024, Random House Books for Young Readers will publish Wednesday: A Novelization of Season One by Tehlor Kay Mejia. The book will be based on the scripts from the first season by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Kayla Alpert, April Blair, and Matt Lambert. The novelization will be written from Wednesday’s perspective and will tell the story of her adventures at Nevermore Academy.
Cookbook, journal, and more are also planned
Also in September, The Official Wednesday Cookbook will launch on September 17, from Emmy Award-winning television producer and author Mari Mancusi. The cookbook will include 60 recipes that range from things like Wednesday’s Woeful Waffles to Enid’s rainbow-sprinkled everything.
Finally, launching on October 1, 2024, will be Wednesday: The Official Nightshade Society Journal: A Journal for Writing, Drawing, Coloring, and More. Like the book’s name suggests, this will be a journal for all ages, and is suitable for school, work, and home. A game and oracle deck from Clarkson Potter will also be released sometime in 2025.
