Night Court Season 3 Set for NBC Comedy Series

Night Court is heading back to court, as THR is reporting that the hit NBC comedy series has officially been picked up for a third season.

The series averaged 3.73 million viewers for the company during its second season run, a tally that’s down from the first season but still ranked as NBC’s most-watched comedy. THR reports that NBC’s streaming results saw 24 million people watch at least a few minutes of the series, as well.

Night Court is a reboot of the 1984 legal comedy series, and stars Melissa Rauch as Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone. Alongside Rauch, the series also stars India de Beaufort as Olivia Moore, Lacretta as Gurgs Gurganous, John Larroquette as Dan Fielding, Pete Holmes as Rand, and Gary Anthony Williams as Judge Flobert.

What is Night Court about?

“Unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone, follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding,” reads the series’ official synopsis.

In addition to starring as the lead character, Raunch also serves as the show’s executive producer alongside Dan Rubin and Winston Rauch. Night Court is produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with After January Productions and Universal Television.
