Bridgerton Season 4: Showrunner Teases Long Waiting Period for Its Release

Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 is streaming on Netflix, but fans will likely have to wait a while before Season 4 arrives. Bridgerton was renewed for Season 4 at the same time as it was renewed for Season 3 in 2021. However, the waiting period between Seasons 3 and 4 is likely to be similar to Seasons 2 and 3, as confirmed by Jess Brownell.

Bridgerton Seasons 3 and 4 will have a ‘two-year’ gap

The second season of Bridgerton hit Netflix on March 25, 2022, and Season 3 took more than two years to arrive. The first batch of episodes streamed on May 16, 2024, and Part 2 began streaming on June 13.

But fans will have to wait for another two years for Season 4, as per showrunner Jess Brownell. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at Season 3 Part 2’s UK premiere, she confirmed that Season 4 will take at least two years to arrive. She opened up about the status of the upcoming season saying:

“I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”

Giving a potential release window for the next season, Brownell continued:

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language. And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”

So, fans shouldn’t expect to see Bridgerton Season 4 before mid-2026. While Seasons 2 and 3 were bridged by the Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story prequel series in 2023, a similar spin-off is not planned to go between Seasons 3 and 4 yet.
