Rumors of a potential CM Punk WWE return have been circulating for some time. Now, new reports suggest that Punk may be ready to make a grand return soon.
What are the latest CM Punk updates?
According to a recent report from Haus of Wrestling’s Nick Hausman, Punk has reportedly been talking to WWE about a return. The report mentions that initially, Punk moving to NXT was something that was discussed. But the general belief is that if Punk were to return, it would be on the main roster.
Hausman went on to say that one WWE source said that it feels like a “safe bet” that Punk will be at WWE’s Survivor Series, which is set to take place on November 25, 2023, and will be held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Punk’s hometown.
In a separate report from longtime wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, he also noted that there were “tons of talk” about Punk returning. Specifically, Meltzer noted that sources close to CM Punk has said that his intention is “to return and the two sides are in talks,” while also mentioning that if he returns, a Survivor Series appearance would be the most likely option.
Punk rose to superstardom during his time in the WWE, before leaving the company in 2014 in a very public and contentious split between Punk and WWE. In 2021, the star joined All Elite Wrestling, but would later leave the company just two years later, when he was fired following a backstage fight.
