Bleach: How strong is Kisuke Urahara’s Bankai?

The Bleach series has introduced many unique characters with special powers that would put anyone to shame. Among the numerous characters in the series, Kisuke Urahara is a name associated with mystery. The mysterious character has always kept to himself, but in the TYBW arc, fans can expect to see him take a more active role. Urahara is already one of the series’ most beloved characters. His carefree but deceptive attitude made him a major hit among the fanbase. Urahara’s Bankai is among the strongest and most complex Tite Kubo has ever created.

Who is Kisuke Urahara in Bleach?

Kisuke Urahara is one of the strongest soul reapers and the former captain of the 12th Division. He is also the founder of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute, which is an essential part of the Soul Society’s success. After leaving the soul society, he opened a store in the human world, selling Shinigami items. Urahara is known for his lazy and sometimes carefree demeanor.

Yet, his reputation includes being tricky and cruel whenever the situation warrants it. He is always near the scene of a major event in the series but chooses not to participate most of the time. Once engaged in a battle, he is a different person, entirely ready to do whatever it takes to win the fight.

What is Urahara’s Bankai?

Urahara’s Bankai is called the Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame. When activated, the Bankai manifests a woman with dark braided hair looped together around her head. She wears a red dress with mannequin-like arms. Although the Bankai may seem underwhelming in presence compared to other Bankai in the series, its ability makes up for it.

Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame can restructure everything it touches for offensive and defensive purposes. While in his area of effect, Urahara can cut anything and everything within that area. However, the Bankai mainly shines for its supportive capabilities, as Urahara can restructure anything similar to a buff and healing effect.

During his battle against Askin Nakk Le Vaar, he uses this to restructure his eye, which Askin had rendered useless. His restructuring isn’t just limited to himself; he can also restructure his opponent’s body, making them weaker in a fight. He could overwhelm him in his battle against Askin by restructuring his arms for increased strength. The Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame can also alter its surroundings, allowing people to overcome obstacles and barriers.

Nonetheless, despite the ridiculous number of uses the ability has, it has drawbacks. However, despite the ridiculous number of uses the ability has, it has drawbacks such as being limited to a specific area of effect, making it difficult to use against enemies with high mobility. After the ability is turned off, all restructured body parts return to how they previously were. This is seen after the battle with Asken by Urahara’s stitches opening again and his restored eyes bleeding again. However, despite the drawbacks, the Bankai is still one of the most overpowered in the Bleach universe.
