Following Taiyo’s remarkable achievements in the spy exam previously, Mission Yozakura Family episode 12 will see Taiyo meet Ban, Mutsumi’s grandfather. The episode could also see Ban take the family out to celebrate Taiyo and Mutsumi’s marriage.
Mission: Yozakura Family episode 11 recap
The episode starts with Taiyo training with Futaba in the mansion while Mutsumi revisits the photo album. The former sees a picture of Nanao celebrating his victory in the spy exam with the rest of the family. He asks them what a spy license is, and Futaba explains it. Taiyo expresses his willingness to take the exam, but Kyoichiro warns him not to fail as everyone has passed it once.
However, their conversation is interrupted by screams from Shion’s room, where they see Ayaka apologizing for messing with the wires. Shion turns on the system and reveals a supernatural presence on the monitor. After Futaba turns pale, Mutsumi explains her fear of the ghosts.
The whole family band together to care for her and ensure she is alright. Later, Mutsumi tries to read to Futaba but falls asleep. Taiyo takes over and finishes the book. Futaba expresses her fear of ghosts, which has spurned her fear of death ever since her mom died. Taiyo comforts her, telling her he understands and is able to put her at ease.
The next day, Taiyo participates in the exam and is a clear favorite as the known Yozakura rookie. Mutsumi follows him to cheer him on during the exam. He meets Hoshifuru, a well-known spy, who saves him from an examinee’s attempt on his life. Hoshifuru then confesses that he is in love with Taiyo and tries to win him over during the exam.
Later, the exam concludes, and everyone is told to run across the hall to retrieve their license as the venue is self-descending. Taiyo is hit during his run but is saved by Hoshifuru, who sacrifices himself to save him. The protagonist then tells him not to give up. Hoshifuru rescues both of them and reveals he is a proctor for the exam. He passes Taiyo and gives him his license. The episode ends with the entire family celebrating his exam clearance.
