The ongoing Wuxia C-drama Joy of Life Season 2, starring Zhang Ruoyun and Li Qin, released episode 27 on May 29, 2024. The episode primarily focuses on Fan Xian (Zhang Ruoyun) and Wan Er’s (Li Qin) honeymoon trip. Yun Rui visits Cheng Ze to show her gratitude for not telling Wan Er about the truth related to Lin Gong’s death. She is curious if Cheng Ze is willing to negotiate peace with Fan Xian. Cheng Ze answers that he didn’t want to use the information in vain as the emperor would still want Fan Xian to take over the imperial treasury even if he didn’t marry Wan Er. He mentions that he will use it as a last option in a life-or-death situation.
Meanwhile, Chen Ping Ping informs Fan Xian that it was, in fact, the emperor himself who wanted the Qingyu Hall to help him take over the imperial gallery. But he should not expect the emperor to help him with the debt. Fan Xian, on the other hand, does not want any help from the shopkeepers of Qingyu Hall as it will cause them to suffer huge losses.
Fan Xian appears before the emperor to inform him about his honeymoon trip. As Wu Zhu mentioned, he wants to use the opportunity to visit Mount Cang. The emperor approves his leave. He now does not want Fan Xian to take over the imperial treasury without acquiring Qingyu Hall. He feels the sum of the debt is huge, and Fan Xian won’t be able to pay it. On top of that, the kingdom has suffered great economic losses since the battle with Northern Qi. Also, the Ministry of Revenue won’t be able to help him.
However, Fan Xian urges the emperor to have faith in him. He thinks it’s an incredible opportunity to win the trust of people. Not only will he pay back the debt, but Fan Xian will also relieve all the disaster victims.

The emperor gives in before Fan Xian’s persistence. But he warns him that he will get demoted to a commoner and sent to prison if he fails to deliver the promised result. The emperor is fascinated by Fan Xian’s confidence.
The episode then shows Fan Xian and Wan Er, along with Fan Si Zhe, Ruo Ruo, and Qi Nian, on their way to Mountain Cang. They encounter the black cavalry, led by Commander Jing. President Chen Ping Ping has sent them to escort Fan Xian to the mountain. Fan Xian instructs Fan Si Zhe to invite all shopkeepers of the capital to Mount Cang.
However, the invitation causes a huge uproar among the shopkeepers. The majority of them are annoyed with Fan Xian. They think that Fan Xian wishes to use them to pay for the debt. The censorate is furious with Fan Xian, and the members want to impeach him.
Then, the shopkeepers from all over the capital arrive at Fan Xian’s residence on Mount Cang. There, Fan Xian introduces a concept called the imperial bond to them. Each bond would be worth a small sum of money. By purchasing this bond, one can contribute to the imperial treasury’s debt.
Fan Xian and his brother succeed in convincing these people to contribute to the royal family as the treasury is owned by them. According to Fan Xian, not only will the bonds help with the debt, but they are beneficial as they will increase in value. Also, eventually, they will become more expensive than gold and silver.
