Snoop Dogg said Dr. Dre was making some “great fucking music” for Grand Theft Auto. But he didn’t specify exactly what those tunes were for, letting speculation run rampant. Rockstar Games has come out and revealed what he was doing with the Grand Theft Auto series through a trailer for Grand Theft Auto Online‘s upcoming storyline called The Contract coming for free to the game on December 15.

The brief trailer sets the tone for the update that sees Franklin, one of the three protagonists from Grand Theft Auto V‘s campaign, as a manager of his own “celebrity solutions agency” that caters to the rich in Vinewood. A friend helps land Dr. Dre as one of his potential clients, but Dre has lost his phone full of unreleased music, which seems to be a ripe opportunity for Franklin to gain the trust of Dre and actually book the famous rap producer.

The Contract comes with a new radio station with “very special guest hosts,” big updates to the game’s current roster of radio stations, exclusive tracks from Dr. Dre, new weapons, additional vehicles, and more, which Rockstar will detail in the future. It’s unclear if any of this, including the music, will come to Grand Theft Auto V‘s campaign, too.
This will likely be one of the last big updates before the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrades of the game come out in March, if it even still hits that month. Rockstar has yet to speak much about these updates and give concrete details about them.
