The Kaito Files will be a four-chapter, 10-hour story expansion that puts players in the shoes of the muscle of the Yagami Detective Agency, Masaharu Kaito, as he takes on a brand-new case that helps tie up some loose ends from his own mysterious past. In the game, Kaito will have two unique, “beastly” fighting styles, which will help him deal with any enemies who might stand in his way of cracking the case. He’s also got a “sensory-based” detective style where he doesn’t use gadgets, just his ability to literally sniff out clues.
“Following the events of Lost Judgment, Kaito picks up a lucrative case while Yagami is out of town that unexpectedly has him searching for his old flame, Mikiko,” reads the official description of the expansion. “Along the way, Kaito encounters Jun, a teenager claiming to be their son, and teams up to uncover the truth behind Mikiko’s disappearance. Now Kaito stands at the crossroads of past and present while up against a syndicate tied to Kamurocho’s criminal underbelly. But why did Kaito and Mikiko split up, and what does this dark faction have to do with her?”

The Kaito Files will be available on its own for $29.99, or will be included in the Lost Judgment Ultimate Edition or Lost Judgment‘s season pass, which is on sale now for various platforms for $34.99. The season pass comes with other DLC, like the Detective Essentials Pack and the School Stories Expansion Pack, both of which add a significant amount of smaller content to the game like new Sega Master System games, outfits, dogs, girlfriends, and more.
