In episode 2, viewers saw Baek-Du repeatedly calling Yu-Gyeong by his childhood friend’s name, Oh Du-Sik. The ending shows an annoyed Yu-Gyeong telling him that if he continues to behave like this, it will be difficult for her mission. Viewers’ curiosity builds up more after a man interrupts their conversation by calling her, “Honey!”
Episode 3 shows disappointed Baek-Du thinking about Yu-Gyeong’s marriage. Despite the latter’s denial, he refuses to accept that she is not Du-Sik. In the end, the Netflix K-drama reveals the identity of Du-Sik.

Yu-Gyeong (Lee Joo-Myoung) has been portrayed as a mysterious character from the beginning. In Like Flowers in Sand episode 3, it appears that she is an undercover cop or detective who came to the Geosan County Office for a murder case.
The man who called her “Honey” is her colleague. They are undercover as an unemployed husband and a working wife. In the latest episode, they investigate the murder of Choi Chil-Seong and Coach Yeon’s suicide.
Aside from the case, Yu-Gyeong gets involved in Baek-Du’s (Jang Dong-Yoon) wrestling career. She doesn’t want him to quit and keeps referring to his skills when he was young, adding curiosity to the Du-Sik storyline. Towards the end, she adds his name to the race of the Ssireum wrestling team’s coach.
Baek-Du finds it annoying because he has already announced his retirement. He wants to pursue being a cop. When he confronts her, Yu-Gyeong’s response leaves him shocked. Like Flowers in Sand episode 3 ends with Yu-Gyeong revealing that she is Du-Sik.
