Jang Ki-Yong’s The Atypical Family Moves Up on Netflix Global Top 10 List As Finale Episode Release Date Nears

Popular ongoing K-drama The Atypical Family, led by Jang Ki-Yong and Chun Woo-Hee, is all set to air its two final episodes this week. It will air Episodes 11 and 12 on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and Netflix.

Ahead of the final episode release date, the K-drama has earned another significant achievement. It managed not only to stay in the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) category for four weeks but also moved up from Rank 6 to Rank 4 in the list.

The Atypical Family follows the story of a man named Bok Gwi-Joo (Jang Ki-Yong) and his family members, who possess a variety of superpowers. However, they lose it all to modern lifestyle problems and mental health issues. Eventually, they cross paths with a mysterious woman named Do Da-Hae (Chun Woo-Hee), who changes the course of their lives.

The Atypical Family premiered on May 4, 2024, and will air for a total of 12 episodes. This weekend, June 8 and 9, 2024, the beloved K-drama will come to an end.

The series quickly became popular among fans because of its storyline and the acting. Not only were the lead actors appreciated, but the supporting cast, including the child actors Park So-Yi and Moon Woo-Jin, also gave an impactful performance.

Owing to the popularity of the series, The Atypical Family quickly made it to the Netflix charts. This week, the K-drama ranked fourth in the Netflix Global Top 10 (Non-English) category charts. It made a significant jump from a rank sixth last week and accumulated 2.1 million views. With only its final two episodes remaining, viewers anticipate a happy ending for both Bok Gwi-Joo and Do Da-Hae.

The previous episode saw Gwi-Joo reunite with Da-Hae after the accident incident. Will the two be able to navigate challenges within the family and stay together? Viewers will have to wait and see.
