Rumored for the leading role earlier this year, Chloe Grace Moretz has officially signed on to headline If I Stay with R.J. Cutler set to make his narrative debut.
The film, first announced in 2009, was previously eyed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke and will adapt of Gayle Forman’s novel.
If I Stay tells the story of the gifted classical musician Mia and her boyfriend, Adam, an up and coming indie-rock star. Torn between two paths in life, her art or her relationship, Mia is forced to make an even starker choice between life and death when she is caught in a fatal car accident with her family one snowy morning in Oregon.
Moretz can soon be seen reprising her role as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass 2 and plays the title role in Kimberly Peirce’s Carrie.
