The Guilty takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger — but he soon discovers that nothing is at it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

The screenplay is written by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective). Gyllenhaal will produce along with his Nine Stories partner Riva Marker as well as Fuqua through his Fuqua Films. Producers also include Scott Greenberg, Michel Litvak, and Gary Michael Walters for Bold Films. Annie Marter, Gustav Moller, and Lina Flint will executive produce.
