New promo art for a rendition of the board game Trouble showcased a variety of art for the upcoming movie. While the board game featured new art for Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy’s characters, it also showed off the Scarlet Spider, a character that hasn’t been confirmed for the film but is one of the most well-known variations of the iconic character.

The Scarlet Spider, or Ben Reilly, was a clone of Peter Parker who was created in a lab by the Jackal, and originally premiered in the world of Marvel Comics in the 70s. Since then, many different characters have taken up the mantle as Scarlet Spider, and his iconic costume has appeared in a variety of video games and other Spider-Man properties.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman join Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld in the animated comic book sequel. The two are reprising their roles as Miles Morales/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, respectively. Plot details are being kept under wraps but will reportedly feature multiple Spider-powered characters “across Marvel Comics’ time and space.”

It was announced in April that Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson will serve as the film’s trio of directors. Lord, Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg are all returning to produce the Sony Pictures project, with Alonzo Ruvalcaba co-producing. The original Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey will executive produce, along with Aditya Sood.
