According to Deadline, The Walking Dead fan-favorite Norman Reedus has officially signed on to join New Regency’s forthcoming drama The Bikeriders. This marks his first movie project in five years, with his most recent film role being the voice of K.E.R.4 in the 2017 sci-fi film Alien Invasion: S.U.M. 1.

Reedus will be joining lead stars Emmy winner Jodie Comer, Oscar nominee Tom Hardy, and Elvis breakout Austin Butler. The film will also feature Oscar nominee Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, and Damon Herriman.
The Bikeriders is inspired by Danny Lyon’s 1967 photography book of the same name. It is an original story that takes place in the 1960s. The film follows the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club.
“Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life,” reads the synopsis.

The film will be directed and produced by Jeff Nichols. Producers are Tri-State’s Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, with Fred Berger executive producing.
