Sandra Bullock showed Oscar appeal when playing Leigh Anne Tuohy in the Best Picture nominated film The Blind Side. After Michael Oher, the movie’s subject, petitioned allegations that his adoption was a lie, the Oscar winner is reportedly “heartbroken” over the news.
On August 5, tragedy struck Sandra Bullock when her partner, Bryan Randall, died from his private battle with ALS. As Bullock is currently mourning the loss of her partner, she heard another piece of distressing news. She starred in 2009’s The Blind Side about a wealthy woman who adopts poor teenager Michael Oher. This adoption led to the Tuohys pushing him towards a college football career and eventually playing for the Baltimore Ravens. On Monday, Michael Oher shocked everyone with allegations the Tuohys tricked him into signing conservatorship papers instead of adoption papers. To make matters worse, further allegations state he earned nothing from the John Lee Hancock film.
Sandra Bullock and everyone else involved in The Blind Side thought they were portraying on screen a true tale. An inside source close to Bullock informed DailyMail that this actress, who won an Oscar for the film, reportedly “hates” that her dedication toward what she thought was a true story has been “tainted.”
“There was so much hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth and now that has been questioned, it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life that was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective,” says the source. “Sandra is putting up a strong face and a strong front as it has been a rough patch for her emotionally with the loss of Bryan, and now she is heartbroken in a different way with all the fallout from the Michael Oher news.”
Online Trolls Believe Sandra Bullock Should Return Her Oscar
Online haters believe in the wake of these allegations that Sandra Bullock should turn in her Best Actress trophy. Luckily, her supporters said there was no way The Lost City actress could have known what was happening. Not to mention, they believed Bullock had earned her Oscar as she still gave a fantastic performance. The insider source says the All About Steve star has not been paying attention to the negative online discussions.
Another supporter of Sandra Bullock’s was her Blind Side co-star Quinton Aaron. Known for playing Michael Oher himself, he defended her on TMZ Sports that The Proposal actress’s trophy should stay exactly where it is.
“She gave a brilliant performance,” said Aaron. “And that shouldn’t be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her.”
The inside source said while Bullock is reportedly going through a rough time, she’s “looking forward to better days ahead.”
