United States Champion Logan Paul sees himself as the next Roman Reigns. Paul successfully defended his title at the WWE Royal Rumble 2024 against Kevin Owens. He made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38 and has been making waves in the wrestling world since then.
Additionally, Paul engaged in singles matches with The Miz, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. Logan Paul’s recent victory over Kevin Owens marked his eighth match in the ring and his first defense since winning the championship at WWE Crown Jewel 2023.
In a recent episode of Impaulsive, reflecting on his match with Kevin Owens, Paul admitted he underestimated Owens. He said, “He’s (Kevin) ruthless man I’ll be honest with you. He’s good, he’s very good. I made fun of him frequently, I called him all sorts of things, the ‘Humpty Dumpty of WWE,’ Called him a 40-year old schoolboy because he dresses like a teenager. I underestimated him and I’m in a little bit of pain,” he said.
Furthermore, Paul expressed his aspirations of reaching the level of the current undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. He said, “I did retain my title against all odds for the first time in WWE, and that’s all it takes, title defense at a time. Who knows? With this rate, I could be the next Roman Reigns.”
Meanwhile, Reigns continues his reign as WWE Universal Champion, now surpassing 1200 days. He retains his championship against top contenders like AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton in a Fatal 4-Way match at Royal Rumble 2024.
Has Logan Paul faced Roman Reigns in a match?
Logan Paul made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38, where he secured a tag team victory with The Miz against Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Due to his background in wrestling, Paul quickly grasped the skills of professional wrestling. Recently, on his podcast, he expressed his desire to reach the level of Roman Reigns in WWE.
Roman Reigns has been the face of WWE for almost nine years. With Paul aspiring to reach Reigns’ level, questions arise about whether they have wrestled in singles matches. Indeed, they have. In the summer of 2022, Reigns appeared on Paul’s podcast, “Impaulsive.” Following the episode, Paul took the opportunity to call Reigns out.
This led to WWE booking a match between Roman Reigns and Logan Paul for the WWE Universal Championship. The match took place in Saudi Arabia in November 2022. While the match itself was great, it also faced numerous outside interferences from members of The Bloodline as well as from Paul’s side. Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, made an appearance, and Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast co-host also got involved in the match.
Despite the interference, Reigns managed to defeat Paul. It’s noteworthy that this was only Paul’s third match in WWE, and he faced the promotion’s top star.
