Seth Rollins Boldly Says WWE Doesn’t Need The Rock

WWE’s reigning World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins isn’t mincing words when it comes to The Rock’s recent WWE return. The People’s Champion made a thunderous comeback on the February 2 edition of SmackDown, engaging in an intense stare-down with Roman Reigns.

However, amidst the buzz surrounding The Rock’s resurgence, major outrage brewed within the WWE Universe. This led to the #WeWantCody movement on social media, clamoring for Cody Rhodes to headline WrestleMania arose as The Rock took his WrestleMania 40 spot. Recently, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins made his feelings clear amidst the ongoing drama surrounding The Great One’s potential WrestleMania 40 involvement.

In an interview with Good Morning Football, Seth Rollins shared his thoughts on The Rock by stating, “He can come in, he can get what he wants, he can take his little piece and then he can go back to Hollywood and do his thing because we got this thing. We don’t need ya. We’d love to have ya, but we don’t need ya, big guy.”

This bold statement throws gasoline on the already fiery WrestleMania debate. All eyes are on the WrestleMania Kickoff Presser in Las Vegas on February 8, where the Reigns-Rock face-off will likely reveal WrestleMania 40 main event fate.

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins shares recovery status

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been the workhorse champion of the promotion since May. Since capturing the title, Rollins has defended it on numerous occasions against opponents like Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Dominik Mysterio, among others.

A few weeks ago on WWE RAW on January 15, Rollins defended his title against Jinder Mahal, where during the match, he sustained a torn MCL and partially tore his meniscus. He later announced that he would be out for some time but made it clear that he would work hard to return in time for WrestleMania 40.

Speaking on Good Morning Football, Seth Rollins commented on his recovery. He stated, “Oh, WrestleMania 40, no problem. We got this bad boy. We got this. I’ll be back way before then, for sure. I tore my MCL, tore my meniscus about three weeks ago now, and it sucks. If you’ve ever had an MCL sprain or any sort of damage to that part of your knee, it’s not comfortable. But doing all the right things, rehabbing.”

“Fortunately, it was just a partial tear and not a full tear. We’re able to avoid surgery for the time being. We’ll see what happens after WrestleMania. We’ll see how long I can ride on these wheels, but rehab’s going great. I feel great, I feel like I recently just kind of turned a corner, as a matter of fact, on this knee. So I’m feeling really good. Definitely will be ready before WrestleMania, and I’m hoping sometime in the next few weeks,” he added.

Rollins has been actively seeking Cody Rhodes as his opponent for WrestleMania 40. Nevertheless, the situation becomes intriguing as Drew McIntyre also vies to be part of the equation.
