Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge, is sidelined due to injury and will not compete at AEW Revolution 2024. Tony Schiavone announced this unfortunate news on AEW Dynamite, confirming Copeland’s absence from the upcoming show.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, during a match against Daniel Garcia, The Patriarchy ambushed Copeland, leading to the match being declared a no-contest. The assault didn’t end there; Christian Cage further attacked Copeland with a chair on his head, sidelining the him from AEW Revolution.
Despite the disruption, the bout for the number one contendership between Copeland and Garcia, which was marred by interference from Christian Cage, Killswitch, Shayna, and Nick Wayne, has led to Garcia being the number one contender. He will now face Christian Cage at AEW Revolution for the TNT title, a match announced on AEW Dynamite.
During an in-ring interview, Schiavone confirmed Garcia as the number one contender. Also, he declared his intention for a future showdown with Copeland. He asserted that their rivalry wasn’t over and hinted at claiming the TNT title when they meet again.
AEW Revolution: Will Adam Copeland return?
On last week’s AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland displayed heel tendencies in his match with Garcia. Then entered The Patriarchy, disrupting the match, leading to Cage hitting Copeland with a chair to the head. This attack took out Copeland. It paved the way for Daniel Garcia to challenge Christian Cage for the TNT title at AEW Revolution.
However, there’s a potential twist in the works. Copeland might return at AEW Revolution, targeting Garcia and potentially aligning himself with The Patriarchy. His inclusion in the faction could stir up more chaos in the AEW roster. The outcome of the Garcia versus Christian Cage match at AEW Revolution is now even more intriguing. Will Copeland makes his shocking return at AEW Revolution and attack Garcia only time will tell.
