WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker is a legendary superstar known for his WrestleMania streak. Recently, the WWE superstar revealed that he didn’t think Brock Lesnar needed to break his WrestleMania streak.
A decade ago at WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker’s legendary streak was broken by Brock Lesnar, sending shockwaves through the stadium and worldwide among the fans. WWE WrestleMania was always the home turf for The Deadman, where he remained undefeated. Facing The Deadman at WrestleMania is a dream for any WWE superstar. While Brock Lesnar may have broken the streak, The Deadman wanted someone else.
During the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker revealed that he wanted the late WWE superstar Bray Wyatt to break the streak. He stated that if the story had been done right, Wyatt should have been the one to conquer the streak.
The Undertaker said, “I don’t think Brock needed it. Brock was already, in my opinion, an established star, a megastar. Roman ended up being another megastar, but it would have been good for for Roman to do it at the end of my career if you’re going to pass it on, but Bray, you know, if the storyline would have been done right, that would have been ideally, I mean, there’s so much you could have done there. I mean, not only are you passing the torch, you’re passing the spirits. There would have been so many levels to that.”
However, The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt did face off at WrestleMania 31 a year later after the streak was broken. In that match, The Deadman defeated Wyatt despite the previous desire for Wyatt to break the streak.
What’s The Undertaker WrestleMania record?
The Undertaker has had a storied wrestling career, competing in 27 WrestleMania matches, of which he has won 25 and lost 2. Both losses occurred at WrestleMania 30 against Brock Lesnar and at WrestleMania 33 against Roman Reigns.
He completed his last match in 2020 against AJ Styles in a cinematic match at WrestleMania 36, where he defeated Styles, maintaining his WrestleMania record at 25-2. It doesn’t seem likely that this record for the WWE Hall of Famer will be broken anytime soon.
