The professional wrestling community mourns the loss of legendary wrestler Sika Anoa’i, father of former WWE Champion Roman Reigns. Jahrus Anoa’i, Sika’s nephew, announced the sad news on his Instagram. He revealed that Sika Anoa’i of the Wild Samoans passed away peacefully on June 25th at the age of 79.
Professional wrestling fans know Sika Anoa’i as one-half of The Wild Samoans with his brother, Afa Anoa’i. The brothers made their wrestling debut in 1973. The duo wrestled for various promotions before their WWE debuts in January 1980. Sika went on to hold the WWF World Tag Team titles three times with his Brother.
After a successful career, Sika retired from wrestling in 1988. However, he stayed active in wrestling by training wrestlers at the Wild Samoan Training Center, a professional wrestling school run by his brother Afa in Minneola, Florida. In 2007, WWE inducted both brothers into the Hall of Fame.
