Tony Khan’s Reaction to Dijak’s WWE Departure

AEW President Tony Khan has recently given his take on Dijak, announcing his departure from WWE. Dijak announced on X (formerly Twitter) that WWE has decided not to renew his contract, and he will become a free agent on June 28, 2024. Dijak, who has been with the promotion since 2017, completed seven years with WWE, making a significant name for himself, especially in NXT.

The news of Dijak leaving WWE has caused shockwaves among fans and backstage officials. Despite being recently drafted to Raw, he never appeared on the main roster. His last match occurred at the WWE’s Speed show, where Xavier Woods defeated him for the number one contender spot for the Speed title, currently held by Andrade.

Following the news of Dijak’s departure from WWE, fans have been speculating about his next move. Fightful Select reported that he has attracted significant interest from various wrestling promotions. Many fans are speculating whether they will see Dijak in AEW.

Over the years, AEW has signed WWE wrestlers such as Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and Adam Cole. Tony Khan, who has consistently recruited top talents from WWE, has offered his perspective on Dijak’s departure. However, Khan expressed reluctance to delve into any contract specifics.

Tony Khan discusses potential signings Dijak to AEW

AEW and NJPW, gearing up for their upcoming pay-per-view Forbidden Door this Sunday in New York, had their AEW president Tony Khan address Dijak’s situation with WWE during a media call. He commented, “There are some great free agents out there. These are great names you’re talking about. I have a lot of respect for everybody you said, but it probably wouldn’t behoove me or benefit AEW for me to give my contract thoughts on all of them or what I would negotiate or what I would have with any of them. I do think they’re all great talents.”

It will be interesting to see whether Dijak, who is set to become a free agent, appears at AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view this Sunday.
