Twinkling Watermelon aired a new episode on Tuesday, November 8, 2023, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and Viki. The series follows the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult) student who travels back in time and meets fellow school students to form a band called Watermelon Sugar. He also time travels to meet his parents from the past.
On episode 14 of Twinkling Watermelon, Eun-Gyeol (Ryeoun) and Eun-Yu (Seol In-Ah) realized that they were both time travelers and each other’s helpers. They clarified their timelines and understood their purpose of time travel. Meanwhile, Yi Chan (Choi Hyun-Wook) and Cheong-Ah (Shin Eun-Soo) also took a step forward in their relationship.

Episode 14 of Twinkling Watermelon begins where the previous episode left off. Eun-Gyeol and Eun-Gyu deboard the train after realizing they both are time travelers. The rest of the band is shocked at the duo’s action, but they resume their journey. Meanwhile, they explain their time travel journeys to each other.
Eun-Gyeol explains that it was important for him to gets his parents, Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah, back together. However, it was difficult for him since Yi Chan had a crush on Eun-Yu, who Eun-Gyeol thought was Se-Kyung. However, if Yi Chan had got in a relationship with Eun-Yu, then he wouldn’t have been born. Meanwhile, Eun-Yu expressed that she thought Yi Chan was her mother Se-Kyung’s first love. So, if she’d worked that out, then she wouldn’t have been born.
The duo, however, wondered what made the Master send them both to the past. While returning to the music retreat, they meet Choi-Hyeon, who had previously met Eun-Yu at the music festival. As requested by Yi Chan, he takes the two to the retreat but keep stealing glances at Eun-Yu on the way.
The members are reunited at the camp, where they share memorable moments. Eun-Yu jokes about the future, but Eun-Gyeol stops her. Meanwhile, Yi Chan gives Cheong-Ah a cat that had a mole on its face just like him, in case she gets bored. As the two spend quality time together, Cheong-Ah shares that her birth mother gave her a name based on her face and personality, which translates into “a clear sound.”
Cheong-Ah also has a similar name for Yi Chan – “a shining voice.” She compliments his talent and encourages him to do his best. Yi Chan grabs her for a kiss as the two share a moment that fans have been wanting to see. He eventually names the title of the band’s song “Shining.”
The following day, the band records their song and spend fun moments together. Later, Eun-Yu becomes curious about Choi-Hyeon’s identity when a band member reveals that he was the frontman of a popular band. She instantly remembers her mother mentioning about the band and grows curious to find out who he is.
Meanwhile, Cheong-Ah’s stepmother sees her and Yi Chan together as they return from the retreat. She slaps Cheong-Ah and locks her in the basement. Eun-Gyeol manages to rescue Cheong-Ah and confronts the stepmother, threatening to report her to higher authorities for harrassment. He takes Cheong-Ah to Yi Chan’s house.
The next few scenes focus on Cheong-Ah’s revelations. She discovers after significant research that Choi-Hyeon is her maternal grandfather. Moreover, she finds out that Eun-Gyeol is her friend’s brother from whom she learned sign language. As Eun-Yu tries to make sense of the situation, she discovers that Yi Chan’s accident doesn’t happen before the festival. Thus, he is still at the risk of losing his hearing.
