With Deadpool & Wolverine nearing its theatrical release date, the marketing campaign is picking up pace and confirming major cameos such as Sabretooth. The latest ad released on Marvel, Hugh Jackman, and Ryan Reynolds’ social media channels officially brings back a variant of Tyler Mane’s Sabretooth. As many fans know, he appeared even before Liev Schreiber’s version.
New Deadpool & Wolverine footage offers first look at Tyler Mane’s Sabretooth
While leaked set photos had revealed Tyler Mane’s Sabretooth towards the end of 2023, his appearance is now confirmed with the newly launched footage. Here’s the montage which ties new snippets with old footage from the past trailers:
In the latter half of the footage, the new variant of Hugh Jackman’s Logan, central to Deadpool & Wolverine, provides viewers with a rematch against Mane’s Sabretooth 24 years after it originally happened in the original live-action X-Men movie.
Will Liev Schreiber also return as Sabretooth in Deadpool & Wolverine?
While Mane’s Sabretooth seems to be officially coming back in Deadpool & Wolverine, it is still uncertain whether Liev Schreiber’s version of the character will make an appearance. Familiar scooper DanielRPK revealed that a variant of Schreiber’s Sabretooth from X-Men Origins: Wolverine will also appear in the film. However, DanielRPK’s scoop needs to be taken with a grain of salt until Marvel confirms it.
Looking back at his past roles in a GQ video, Schreiber revealed that he would’ve loved to return in Logan. But he was never asked to make a comeback as Sabretooth was never a part of Logan’s story. Whether he has a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine remains to be seen.
Besides Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the title roles, the Shawn Levy-directed film stars Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Matthew Macfayden as Paradox, Rob McElhenney as a TVA agent, and several other returning actors from Deadpool 2.
Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters in less than a month on July 26, 2024.
